The motion

That the Parliament welcomes that the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) will fund the restoration of the historic Milngavie Precinct clock; understands that this funding comes out of East Dunbartonshire Council’s £3.5 million allocation of funds from the UKSPF; further understands that the clock was originally housed on an elevated fourth floor turret of a department store on Sauchiehall Street called Copland and Lye, which was described as "one of the most extensive, architecturally elegant and the most perfectly-equipped drapery emporiums in the kingdom"; acknowledges that the iconic clock was reinstalled in the Milngavie Precinct in 1981 to mark the pedestrianisation of the area; further acknowledges that the historic clock recently stopped functioning, much to the dismay of the locals; expresses gratitude that the historic clock is being transported for repairs, and notes that, in just 12 short weeks, the iconic clock should return to what it considers to be its proper location at the heart of the community.
