The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, in Dundee, on reaching its 50th year; notes that it welcomed its first patient to the new building on 31 January 1974; understands that it was the first new teaching hospital to be built in the UK since the 19th century; further understands that the hospital blazed a trail as the first to have a school of medicine integrated into the modern build; recognises that long-serving staff, along with one of the first patients to be treated in Ninewells, were treated to a celebration event on the hospital’s concourse to mark the 50th anniversary, and wishes Ninewells Hospital Board, staff and patients all the very best for the next 50 years.
