The motion

That the Parliament recognises the hard work and success of local swimming inspiration, Nathan McKechnie; understands that Nathan has autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and dorsal stream dysfunction, meaning that he is also partially sighted, and that, yet, after finding a disability club, he quickly excelled and became top schoolboy in disability swimming in Scotland, as well as being selected for the Special Olympics before the COVID-19 pandemic; notes that in 2023, Nathan was diagnosed with a hole in his heart and that he now works as a swim coach as part of the National Learn to Swim programme, and praises what it considers to be Nathan's amazing achievements and the positive impact that he has had on many other young people of all abilities in pursuing their goals.
