The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Lara Stirling on securing her second Senior Doubles title at Table Tennis Scotland's Scottish National Championships 2024; recognises that Lara secured this win alongside her playing partner, Rebecca Plaistow, who is currently Scotland’s number one player in women’s table tennis; notes that Lara and Rebecca travelled to Largs for the 2024 Senior Scottish National Championships in March 2024, with the aim of retaining their previous doubles title; understands that, with this latest victory, the duo has now collected the 2019, 2023 and 2024 doubles prize together; recognises that Lara hones her skills at Grange Table Tennis Club in Brightons, and that, as a result of her hard work, she is currently placed fifth in the women’s ranking for Scotland; congratulates Lara on securing this additional doubles title recently, and wishes her the best of luck as she continues to progress within the top field of table tennis.
