The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the staff and pupils from Jordanhill High School on being named Scotland’s top performing high school for the seventh year running in the Sunday Times High School League Table; notes what it sees as the long-standing record of academic excellence at the school in Glasgow, which is the only mainstream grant-aided institution in Scotland, and understands that this has pushed other schools to try and follow in its footsteps in relation to funding, which gives it independence from local authority control; understands that 89% of Jordanhill's pupils secured five or more Highers in 2023; further understands that Jordanhill is run by a board of managers, made up of seven parents and three staff members, who are selected by other parents and staff, and notes that it also has professional advisers, alongside the board, and a rector who runs the school day-to-day.
