NHS Tayside Finalists in the RCN Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards 2024

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the four finalists from NHS Tayside in the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards 2024; understands that the RCN Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards are designed to recognise, highlight and celebrate the dedication and outstanding professional care of nursing staff across Scotland; further understands that nominations from nurses and midwives from the NHS, care homes and others in the independent sector are accepted across the 13 categories; notes that the four finalists include nursing teams and staff from NHS Tayside, who have been shortlisted in several categories, namely the Children’s Nursing and Midwifery Award, the Learning Disability Nursing Award, the Nursing Support Worker Award and the People’s Choice Award; recognises that their nominations encompass the various nursing specialities, acknowledging what it sees as the indispensable contribution of nurses, nursing support workers, broader nursing teams and nursing students across the nursing community in Scotland, and wishes all the finalists the very best of luck at the grand awards ceremony on 23 May 2024 at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.
