Central Safe Drive, Stay Alive Receives Welcome Investment

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Central Safe Drive, Stay Alive, which is a roadshow teaching young people across Clackmannanshire and Stirling about the dangers of careless driving, has secured a substantial funding boost from Air Products; believes that the roadshow has been reaching thousands of senior pupils each year from across the central belt; understands that the support from the company, which is building an air separation plant in Alloa, has been described as a huge boost for the chair, Alan Faulds BCAc, and his team, who have been delivering the show for 16 years; understands that the road safety initiative, which delivers a live show at the MacRobert Arts Centre in Stirling involving emergency services personnel from across the Forth Valley each year, has been credited with a reduction in road deaths in the area but that funding has always a considerable issue; further understands that Alan and the Safe Drive team are said to be delighted to be working in partnership with Air Products and have reportedly described the company as very much having the community at the centre of its safety thinking; understands that this valued investment, in addition to other streams that are in progress, are enabling Central Safe Drive to plan shows well in advance, but that they are also mindful that fundraising must continue; commends Air Products on what it sees as its magnanimous gesture, and further commends Alan, Melanie and all the Central Safe Drive team on their collective, tireless work for the benefit of all communities in the central belt.
