Robert MacIntyre Secures First PGA Tour Title

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Robert MacIntyre on securing his first PGA Tour title win at the RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf and Country Club; recognises that Robert won by one shot on 16 under par over four rounds to secure victory in what it believes was a tightly fought contest; considers that the moment was made all the more special by the fact that Robert's dad, Dougie MacIntyre, stood in as his caddie for the tournament; understands that the £1.33 million prize money is the biggest financial win by a Scottish golfer at a single event; further understands that Robert hails from Oban and that his continued success in the sport will undoubtedly inspire more young people to get involved in golf, and wishes Robert the best of luck for the remainder of the season, including at the Open Championship at Royal Troon in July 2024.
