Simon Howie Butchers Extends Long-standing Stocking and Product Relationship with Asda

The motion

That the Parliament understands that Perthshire butchers, Simon Howie, has extended its long-standing relationship with Asda with a new deal to stock its barbeque range across Asda's Scottish stores; further understands that the arrangement follows the expansion of Simon Howie’s range in April 2024 when Asda listed its new breakfast products; believes that, in addition to the Simon Howie steak burger that is stocked all year round, Simon Howie will also see Asda listings for eight additional barbecue products; notes that the butchers’ Gastro Burger won the Meat Product of the Year award at the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards in 2023, so the company is confident that this could also be a success with Asda customers; acknowledges that Asda, which has branches in Alloa, Stirling, Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline and Perth, among others in the Mid Scotland and Fife region, says that it is proud to source the very best in Scottish food and drink and is always looking to expand its range from quality suppliers, with more than 350 new products from new and existing Scottish suppliers joining its shelves over the last year alone, and congratulates both Simon Howie and Asda on what it sees as this highly successful, long-term partnership.
