Scotland's Home of the Year 2024

The motion

That the Parliament extends its congratulations to Anna McClelland, her partner, Harry Kinloch, and their children, Lexie and Marley, and even Bob the cat, as their home was crowned the winner of Scotland's Home of the Year, the popular BBC Scotland series, which was filmed at Glasgow's House For An Art Lover; recognises that the 2024 search for Scotland’s Home of the Year showcased a variety of home styles including cosy cottages, period renovation to mid-century abodes, and that the Milngavie family was crowned the winner from a shortlist of six finalists from across Scotland; understands that the 1960s bungalow in Milngavie has been extended twice and serves as a creative outlet for the couple, both of whom are graduates of the Glasgow School of Art; further understands that the judges, including interior designers, Anna Campbell-Jones and Banjo Beale, as well as architect, Danny Campbell, were impressed by the clever decorating techniques and the use of reclaimed materials, and wishes them all the best in the future.
