The motion

That the Parliament congratulates a Clackmannanshire man on his launch of a charity initiative designed to get men talking about their mental health; understands that Scott MacDonald, from Alloa, has started the Bands For Brothers project, in which he sells wristbands, with all proceeds going to the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH); believes that his aim is to promote positive discussions surrounding men’s mental health and to raise funds for the work of SAMH, which has been described as a cause close to his heart; acknowledges that Scott had previously fundraised for SAMH in the past by completing a 50-mile walk in the Laich o’Moray challenge near Forres during October 2023 when he and his brother managed to raise over £1,000 for what it considers to be the life-saving charity; understands that this successful fundraiser prompted Scott to continue his fundraising efforts, leading to the launch of his Bands For Brothers project, which was enthusiastically accepted by SAMH; notes that, as part of his appeal, Scott has launched an Instagram account to promote and sell his wristbands, which can also be purchased via Shopify, and commends Scott, as well as SAMH, for what it sees as their wonderful endeavours for the benefit of everyone’s mental health.
