Congratulating Girvan’s Friday Night Fitba Programme

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Friday Night Fitba Programme, which is based in Girvan, on winning the Inclusion and Prevention award at the National Youth Work Awards 2024; understands that, since the programme began in 2021, antisocial behaviour in the area has fallen by 22%; notes that the award celebrates action taken to help young people understand the lasting effect of such behaviour; acknowledges that the group was awarded the prize due to its success in helping young people play sport, giving them a sense of community and preventing antisocial behaviours, and wishes it continued success.
