Schools Across Argyll and Bute Achieve UNICEF's Rights Respecting Schools Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates several primary schools across Argyll and Bute on receiving Rights Respecting Schools Awards by UNICEF; understands that the gold level award was achieved by Easdale Primary School, the silver level by Toward, Innellan, Castlehill, Port Ellen, Glenbarr, Dalintober, and Strath of Appin primary schools, and that bronze was achieved by Tiree, Achahoish and Taynuilt primaries; understands that the award is given to schools who are committed to raising awareness of UNCRC principles in their school communities and include the values of the award in every aspect of teaching and learning; further understands that, in order to achieve the award, each of the schools will have participated in various projects to help develop principles, such as equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation; realises the hard work required from everyone involved with each school in order to achieve each level of the award, and wishes all of the schools good luck as they continue to maintain these principles and find ways to enhance them further.
