Newton Mearns Charity Sets up New Dementia-friendly Support Group
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Mearns Kirk Helping Hands for its work to establish another dementia-friendly support group; understands that the Newton Mearns-based charity has established the weekly event of "Wonderful Wednesday"; recognises that the core aim of the weekly Wednesday event is to provide a space for people who are living with dementia to participate in quieter activities such as crafts; acknowledges that Mearns Kirk Helping Hands already provides extensive support to people living in Eastwood who have received a diagnosis of dementia, and commends the charity for its latest initiative.
