Congratulating Edinburgh’s Josh Kerr on Winning Silver in the 1500 Metres at the 2024 Paris Olympics

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Edinburgh’s Josh Kerr on winning a Silver medal in the 1500 metres at the 2024 Paris Olympics, setting a new British record in the process; recognises what it sees as Kerr’s incredible achievements in middle distance running, with his latest medal in the 1500 metres adding to Bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, a World Indoor Championship victory in Glasgow in 2024, and a World Championship victory in 2023; understands that Kerr is the first Scot to claim track medals at more than one Olympic Games; notes the success of Team GB at the Paris Olympics, and wishes all Team GB athletes yet to compete the best of luck.
