Irish Dancing Competition Attracts Thousands of Visitors to Glasgow

The motion

The Parliament congratulates all those who took part in Feis Rutai Thir Chonaill, an annual Irish Dancing Competition run by the Boyle and McQuade Schools of Irish Dancing; understands that around 700 dancers from across Britain and Ireland took part in the two-day competition on 24-25 August 2024 to compete for silverware, while around 2,000 visitors gathered in Glasgow's East End to watch the dancing festivities; further understands that it was the first time the schools have chosen Celtic Park for their competition, due to its location within the city, and acknowledges that world-class dancers travelled from all over Scotland, England and Ireland, as well as competitors, to compete in graded competitions as they advance in their journey of dance.
