The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow construction group, CCG (Scotland), on its apprentice programme, which has welcomed 10 new trade apprentices to its workforce, reaffirming, it believes, its dedication to the next generation of skilled professionals in the Scottish construction sector; notes that CCG (Scotland), which is based in Glagsow, is one of the country’s largest construction and manufacturing groups and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024; notes that this latest intake brings the total number of apprentices employed across CCG’s Group of Companies to 48; understands that each of the new recruits are between the ages of 17 and 18 and will undertake a four-year, industry-recognised programme to become qualified plumbers, joiners, electricians, and heating engineers, and further understands that during their apprenticeship, the recruits will undertake a mix of practical, on-site learning and lecture-based theory at some of Scotland’s leading colleges.
