Congratulating Paralympics GB at the Paralympic Games in Paris

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Paralympics GB, including its incredible athletes fromScotland, on its success at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris; believes thatthe athletes' hard work, determination, and commitment to their sport andrepresenting Great Britain is incredible and has paid off, with 124 medals wonand 21 of those won by athletes from Scotland; recognises what it sees as theexcellent work of Channel 4 as the official channel covering the games, and forits continued efforts in championing disabled athletes and presenters; notesthat Paris 2024 was Channel 4's most accessible Olympic Games to date, as allcontent had subtitles, including BSL live signing on weekday afternoons;understands that Channel 4 made history with the first ever Deaf presenterworking live on the Paralympic Games; recognises what it sees as the importanceof the Paralympics in continuing to push boundaries, as well as promotingdisabled people's inclusion and participation in sports, especially as part ofthe Equal Play Campaign, and congratulates all Paralympics GB medallists,particularly those from Scotland, on their incredible achievements.
