Congratulations to the University of Aberdeen

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the University of Aberdeen on achieving its highest ever UK position in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide; notes that the 2025 league table, which ranks over 130 higher education institutions, sees Aberdeen rise four places to 15th in the UK, and from fourth to second place in Scotland, behind only St Andrews; understands that, among the metrics used to determine each university's overall score, Aberdeen scored highest in student experience (seventh) and entry standards (eighth); further understands that the university was ranked in the top 10 for seven individual subjects, including Anatomy and Physiology, Anthropology, Education, English, French, Medicine and Sociology, with top 20 rankings in a further 11 other subjects, and believes that this demonstrates the excellent standard of education being delivered by the university, which is preparing future generations with the skills required to tackle society's major challenges, and is a testament to the hard work of both students and staff alike.
