Celebrating Crinan Canal Parkrun's Inaugural Run

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the Crinan Canal Parkrun on its inaugural run on 31 August 2024; understands that the event’s success was due to a year of hard work and planning from all volunteers involved, including event director, Oly Hemmings, and run director, David MacInnes, and many other volunteers; notes that the first run saw 83 runners with some visiting from other parts of the UK; understands that in the three Crinan Canal Parkrun events that have now been held, 260 runners have taken part with 17 achieving a personal best on the 5km course; recognises what it sees as the importance of Parkrun events in bringing people together and promoting a healthy lifestyle, and wishes the organisers and volunteers of Crinan Canal Parkrun the best for the future.
