The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Blackthorn Salt, of Ayr, on its win at the Great Taste Awards 2024; understands that the event, often coined the Oscars of the food world, was held at the Battersea Arts Centre and saw 13,672 Great Taste product hopefuls blind taste tested by an experienced panel of judges; notes that Blackthorn Salts claimed the Golden Fork from Scotland for its Scottish sea salt flakes; further notes that, when making its product, Blackthorn uses 100% west coast sea water, which is "slowly trickled through the country’s only graduation thorn tower whilst being evaporated by the exhilarating West Coast winds", resulting in a natural tasting "salt of the world"; commends the team at Blackthorn Salts for its hard work and dedication to its craft, and hopes to see it continue its successes in the future.
