Congratulating Greig Davie on Winning the Kingdom Fly Fishing Championship at Eden Springs

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Greig Davie on winning the Kingdom Fly Fishing Championship at Eden Springs, near Cupar; celebrates that the Leslie-based angler won both heats at Ballo and Eden Springs and was runner-up in the 2023 event, where he caught 22 fish, to take the top prize; notes that Davie’s catch weighed more than 13lb, ahead of second-placed Scott Mudie, from Kirkcaldy, the event organiser; commends the efforts of Darren McPherson Senior, from Methil, on taking third place, Willie Thomson on winning fourth place, Daren McPherson Junior on being placed in fifth place, Ronnie Couper on achieving sixth place and Paul Cushnie, who was seventh; recognises the achievements of Kirsty Murray, the first woman to qualify for the final; notes that Robert Boyes caught the heaviest fish, a tiger trout weighing 3lb 9oz; extends its very best wishes for continued success to all the participants, and thanks everyone involved in the organisation of the event.
