Central Safe Drive, Stay Alive's "Be Seen, Be Safe" Schools' Safety Initiative

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the road safety initiative, Central Safe Drive, Stay Alive (SDSA), has embarked on a further initiative that aims to keep children and young people safe while travelling to and from their schools and nurseries; understands that the charity’s chairman, Alan Faulds, as part of the wider SDSA project, has recently raised enough funds to purchase 2,000 reflective Snap Bands; believes that, despite undergoing major knee reconstruction surgery at the end of September 2024, Alan has now personally distributed these bands out to around 35 primary and nursery schools, and a church across Stirling, Clackmannanshire and Falkirk; understands that the schools have been very appreciative of this initiative; considers that all at SDSA believe that a "Be Seen, Be Safe" motto is vital, as the dark mornings and nights approach; further considers that ensuring that the youngest members of communities are as safe as possible is high on SDSA’s priorities, and commends Alan as well as everyone at Central Safe Drive, Stay Alive for what it sees as their selfless, tireless and highly dedicated endeavours towards a goal of best possible community safety.
