Troon Primary Wins Gold School Sport Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Troon Primary school following its accreditation with a sportscotland Gold School Sport Award; understands that sportscotland’s School Sport Award is a national initiative designed to encourage schools to put young people at the heart of decision-making, planning and implementation of extra-curricular school sport, encouraging schools to self-reflect and continuously improve, recognise and celebrate successful school sport models, while enhancing sporting links between schools and communities, and providing opportunities for young people to progress; further understands that the Gold School Sport Award is in recognition of the school’s achievements in putting sport at the heart of their planning, practice and ethos, highlighting that the school has shown excellent practice across the core areas of the award and demonstrated an ongoing commitment to increase young people’s opportunities and engagement in physical education, school sport and leadership and provide clear pathways to life-long participation in sport; commends the pupils and staff at Troon Primary, and hopes to see them continue their success in the future.
