Norman Macaskill Wins Prestigious Award for Community Contribution

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Stornoway resident, Norman Macaskill, who was presented with the Nellie MacAskill Shield by The Western Isles Lottery at the 2024 Christmas switch-on event; understands that the award is given to an individual who is deemed to have made a significant contribution to their community; further understands that Norman has contributed to a variety of local groups for over 50 years, including his work at the Macaulay Road Co-op, his involvement as a representative of Disability Sport on the Club Sport Committee, his role as chairperson of the Physically Handicapped and Able-Bodied group, and his active participation in ENABLE Scotland events in the area; recognises the immense contribution that Norman Macaskill has made and continues to make in his community, and wishes Norman all the very best for the future.
