Clackmannanshire Community Groups Receive Over £28,000 from Co-op’s Local Community Fund

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Clackmannanshire community groups have received more than £28,000 from the Co-op’s Local Community Fund, the money from which will be used to help make a difference in local communities; understands that those benefitting from the funding include Breathe Easy Clackmannanshire and Clackmannanshire Women’s Aid, which each received £1,524; believes that the funding is not the only benefit for the groups, with 95% of causes stating that they felt more connected with their community as a result of participating in the Co-op’s Local Community Fund, as it is believed that the scheme also helped to raise their profile locally; acknowledges that the amount received by each local group is driven by Co-op members, who select the cause that they would like to support via the Co-op’s membership app; understands that, since 2020, the Co-op’s Local Community Fund has shared more than £58 million with over 20,500 community groups across the UK, and commends the Co-op and its members, as well as the local groups that benefit, on their sterling work for their communities.
