Milli Abrams from Fife to Take Part in the World's Toughest Row Across the Atlantic

The motion

That the Parliament extends its very best wishes to Milli Abrams, from Fife, who is to take part in an extreme endurance race in a solo 3,000-mile row across the Atlantic; understands that what is known as "the World's Toughest Row" will take Milli from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour in Antigua; believes that, if successful, Milli will be the fourth woman in her 50s to complete the row and understands that, at just five feet tall, she will be the shortest, and also the lightest, person ever to have rowed across an ocean; understands that she will celebrate turning 50 at sea on 31 January 2026; recognises that this is not the first ocean-going adventure for Milli as, in 2010, she set out to circumnavigate the world on a 46-foot catamaran with her husband and seven-year-old son; notes that, after crossing from the Mediterranean Sea over the Atlantic, she and her family remained in the British Virgin Islands, where she continued to work until 2017; believes that Milli, who is a knitting and yarn entrepreneur, will be the only solo female participant from the UK in the race, which sets off in December 2025; expresses its gratitude that she will be raising funds for both the environmental action charity, the 2 Minute Foundation, and Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), and wishes Milli the best of luck with the race and her other endeavours.
