Welcoming the Restoration of the Bruce Miller's Union Street Clock

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the restoration of the iconic drum-shaped clock on Aberdeen's Union Street, originally designed by legendary music shop owner Bruce Miller; recognises the £15,000 restoration project, undertaken by Robin Miller, to preserve this unique piece of Aberdeen's heritage; acknowledges the collaborative funding support from the Miller family and Aberdeen City Council conservation grants; notes the clock's historical significance as a reminder of the Bruce Miller music store, which served Aberdeen until 2011; commends what it sees as Robin Miller's dedication to preserving this memorable feature of the Granite Mile upon his return to the north east; appreciates the craftsmanship involved in restoring the rotating marching band feature; believes that this restoration is a positive contribution to Union Street's regeneration efforts, and hopes that this project will inspire further preservation of Aberdeen's unique architectural and cultural heritage.
