Highland Success at the National Autistic Society Branch Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Carrie Watts from the National Autistic Society Scotland's Highland Branch on winning what it considers is the prestigious Autistic Branch Volunteer of the Year award at the National Autistic Society Branch Awards in November 2024; further congratulates Susannah Coulson from the Nairn Children's Group on being named the Young Branch Volunteer of the Year at the ceremony, in recognition of her outstanding commitment to supporting autistic people in the Highlands; acknowledges the remarkable achievement of the Highland Branch in receiving the award for Most Outstanding Branch Event of the Year, which highlights its exceptional work in providing support and raising awareness of autism across the Highlands and Islands; expresses admiration for the dedication of the branch’s volunteers, some of whom were recently featured in an inspiring YouTube film, offering valuable insight into the autistic experience through the perspectives of autistic people and professionals working with them; encourages continued support for the National Autistic Society Scotland and other such organisations across the Highlands, and believes that they play a crucial role in supporting autistic people and in promoting a more inclusive and understanding society.
