The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Burnside Brewery, which is based in Laurencekirk, as it outgrows its current premises and looks to move to a bigger purpose-built brewery in the Mearns; understands that before taking over Burnside Brewery in 2018, Margo Macnab was a clinical scientist, while her husband, Steve Lewis, a keen home brewer, worked as a Project Manager; recognises that Burnside Brewery is an independent, award-winning craft brewery and was voted by the Campaign for Real Ale as Brewery of the Year for Grampian and Northern Isles two years running in 2022 and 2023; notes that its range of full strength and alcohol-free beers includes pale ales, blondes, IPAs, red ales and dark beers, and that these are stocked by independent restaurants, pubs and farm shops across the north east; welcomes the news that the brewery has just won a deal with the supermarket Scotmid to stock its alcohol-free beers in stores across Scotland, and wishes Burnside Brewery every success as it moves to its new premises and continues its growth.
