Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Murrayfield Stadium

The motion

That the Parliament celebrates the 100th anniversary of Murrayfield Stadium, the home of Scottish rugby since its opening in 1925; recognises its significance as one of the most iconic sporting venues in Scotland, hosting generations of memorable matches, including historic Six Nations victories, international test matches, and club rugby finals; acknowledges what it sees as its role in fostering a deep passion for rugby across the nation and inspiring future generations of players and supporters; notes its importance as a multi-purpose venue that has welcomed world-class concerts and events, bringing cultural and economic benefits to Edinburgh and Scotland as a whole, and sends its best wishes to all those celebrating this milestone, including Scottish Rugby, players past and present, fans, and all those who have contributed to Murrayfield’s rich history over the past century.
