The Malletsheugh Named as Best Restaurant at People's Choice Business Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Malletsheugh in Newton Mearns on winning the Best Restaurant award at the 2025 People's Choice Business Awards in Glasgow; understands that The Malletsheugh opened less than two years ago, in August 2023, and the restaurant also won the prize of Best New Restaurant at the 2024 Scottish Curry Awards; acknowledges that The Malletsheugh serves both Indian and traditional Scottish meals and it is a family-run business; recognises that the People's Choice Awards provides an opportunity for members of the public to reward businesses by nominating and voting for them to receive one of the prizes on offer, and believes that The Malletsheugh winning the award of Best Restaurant demonstrates that the business is a key part of the local community in Newton Mearns and its recognition is well deserved.
