Clyde Side Model Railway Club Receives £500 Donation from the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Clyde Side Model Railway Club on receiving a £500 donation from the Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust; recognises the club's long history since its establishment in 1958, bringing together around 16 retirees at the Circle building in Easterhouse to pursue their passion for model railways; acknowledges what it sees as the vital role that the club plays in combating social isolation and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for members of varying abilities; applauds the club's tradition of creating a special Christmas railway layout for local nursery children, spreading joy and engaging with the community; considers the financial challenges faced by small community groups like the Clyde Side Model Railway Club, with rising operational costs placing a strain on members; welcomes the support of Allied Vehicles Charitable Trust in easing this burden and enabling the club to continue participating in model railway shows without financial constraints, and commends all those involved in sustaining and celebrating this cherished community institution.
