Race for Life Returns to Glasgow

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the return of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life events to Glasgow, offering people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to raise vital funds for lifesaving cancer research; acknowledges the upcoming events, including the 3k, 5k, and 10k races at Glasgow Green on 18 May 2025, and the Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Strathclyde Country Park in Motherwell on 14 June 2025; welcomes the inclusion of the Pretty Muddy Kids event for children aged six to 12; recognises what it sees as the important role that Race for Life has played in funding research that it understands has contributed to the doubling of cancer survival rates in the UK over the past 50 years; commends the dedication of all participants, volunteers, and Cancer Research UK staff for their efforts in the fight against cancer, and encourages individuals across Scotland to lace-up their trainers, take part, and contribute to the ongoing work to tackle cancer.
