Duke and Duchess of Rothesay Visit the Isles of Mull and Iona
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, also known as the Prince and Princess of Wales, are spending their 14th wedding anniversary on the Isles of Mull and Iona; understands that the Duke and Duchess are staying in a self-catering holiday cottage to help support the local tourism industry and that they are conducting a series of engagements, including a visit to Aros Hall in Tobermory and Pennyghael Community Hall in Iona, both of which are receiving support from the Royal Foundation for renovations, the Tobermory Producers Market, and a local croft alongside children from Ulva Primary School; understands that the Duke and Duchess visited Tobermory almost 25 years ago as friends at university prior to becoming a couple and, as such, have a strong attachment to Mull, and wishes the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay well for the remainder of their stay on Mull, and the various local projects that are benefiting from support from the Royal Foundation.
