Firpark Ski Centre in Tillicoultry Marks 40th Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Firpark Ski Centre in Tillicoultry on reaching its 40th anniversary during the week of 12 May 2025; notes that its unique place in the community was marked with a special week of celebrations; understands that skiing, snowboarding and tubing have taken place at the Clackmannanshire Council venue since it opened in 1985; further understands that it has a state-of-the-art artificial slope and dedicated instructors who have introduced tens of thousands of people, from Clackmannanshire and beyond, to the joy of snow sports; notes that, during the week, more than 450 people turned out to mark the milestone by taking part in numerous activities, which included taster sessions for beginners, open sessions, curricular skiing, tubing sessions, adaptive ski sessions for both stand and bi-ski participants, and a slideshow and displays with highlights from the last 40 years at the centre; understands that the culmination was a celebration evening on 16 May 2025, when around 60 former and current instructors, technicians and managers were joined by elected members and council officials, and wishes the centre and all involved all the best for the future.
