The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Messrs I&A Beaton of East Quartains, Drumoak, near Banchory, on achieving first place at the Tesco stand steak competition at the Royal Highland Show; notes that it won the overall prize of £500 and a further £300 for the top Aberdeen Angus steak; understands that the secret to its success, according to Kevin Riach, the farm manager, is down to the cows’ mainly forage-based diet; further understands that the farm has between 600 and 800 heads of cattle, and wishes Messrs I&A Beaton every success with its steaks in the future.
