Killie Heartmates Host a Successful Tartan Tea Party
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Killie Heartmates and the Park Hotel Kilmarnock have raised £1,283.50 by hosting a Tartan Tea Party for Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS); understands that the Tartan Tea Party aims to raise funds for CHSS to make a real difference to the reported one in five people in Scotland living with chest, heart, and stroke conditions and/or long COVID through its Community Healthcare Support Service, which includes one-to-one support, stroke nurse guidance, peer support groups and an advice line; further understands that the event was supported by the Scottish baker, author, GP and finalist in The Great British Bake Off, Dr James Morton, and included afternoon tea with an arrival drink, raffle and entertainment by Music Box; notes that the event drew a crowd of roughly 90 people; recognises that CHSS is still tallying the total funds raised from the inaugural tea party, but that the current total raised at a national level is £43,781.95; commends the Park Hotel for its continued support of the Killie Heartmates and its commitment to meeting the needs of its community; congratulates the Killie Heartmates on the successful event, and wishes it all the best for the future.
