Kirkcudbright Dark Space Planetarium Sees Stars in its Skies

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Kirkcudbright Dark Space Planetarium on its continued success in delivering high-quality science education and engagement in Dumfries and Galloway; recognises what it sees as the Planetarium’s innovative use of interactive exhibits and immersive 360° dome films to inspire learners of all ages about space exploration, astronomy, and environmental science; notes the centre’s commitment to accessibility through tailored school visits, after-school programmes, and support for transport costs; commends its efforts to foster curiosity and STEM learning among young people, including hands-on activities such as rocket launching, astronaut challenges, and virtual tours of the solar system; encourages schools and families across Scotland to take advantage of this unique educational resource, and wishes the planetarium and its staff continued success in the coming months as it boldly goes where few have gone before.
