Centenary of the Stirling Guide Hut

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the 100th anniversary of Stirling Guide Hut; notes that the Stirling Guide Hut was opened by the Chief Guide, Lady Baden Powell, on 21 September 1925; understands that the building, which underwent refurbishment in the 1970s and 2000, is fondly remembered by generations of women and girls in Stirling; notes what it sees as the positive contribution of Girlguiding in Stirling and across Scotland; recognises the significant effort by the original committee to raise the funds and build the hut, and the volunteers who have maintained it since; celebrates the skills, experiences and positive moments enjoyed by Girl Guides over the last 100 years; understands that the occasion will be marked by a celebratory open day, which will welcome current and former members, and wishes Girlguiding Forth Valley the best for the day and for its future endeavours.
