George Talbot Hoping to Raise Over £400,000 for Strathcarron Hospice in Memory of Late Wife
The motion
That the Parliament commends George Talbot, who is hoping to raise over £400,000 for Strathcarron Hospice where his late wife, Gaynor, spent her final 22 days after being diagnosed with cancer; understands that George founded the campaign, GGontwowheels, to support this work, and that, in October 2025, and with the help of friends, it organised a ball that brought in £30,000, with further fundraising events increasing the sum to at least £41,000; believes that George now aims to generate enough money to cover the hospice’s running costs for 22 days, matching the number of days Gaynor spent there; notes that, to achieve this goal, George purchased and modified a Ford Transit 2022 campervan, valued at approximately £40,000, and that he is raffling it off through GGontwowheels to raise funds, with all the proceeds going to the Hospice; notes that tickets are being sold at £5 each on ggontwowheels.com/raffle/; understands that George aims to raise more funds through a solo 22-day motorcycle journey across Australia, believes that the Hospice needs to raise the equivalent of around £19,452 a day to provide all of its services, which are free to all who use them across communities; sends its sincere condolences to George on the tragic loss of Gaynor; recognises the Hospice’s gratitude to him for arranging this fundraiser, and wishes George and everyone involved all the very best on this highly magnanimous initiative.
