Welcoming the Muckhart Local Place Plan’s Submission to Clackmannanshire Council

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the residents of Muckhart have submittedtheir opinions on village improvements to Clackmannanshire Council; understandsthat, in April 2025, the village community council appealed to residents tocontribute their thoughts to the Local Place Plan (LPP), a guide for thedevelopment of Muckhart for the next 10 years, which includes establishing aDevelopment Trust; believes that, in November 2025, a steering group reviewedthe responses and acknowledged some of the biggest challenges facing thevillage, highlighting key issues raised by residents; notes that the proposalsinclude creating safe walking and cycling connections between Muckhart andDollar, increasing shared transport, a playpark upgrade, developing a pop-upcommunity shop and investment in local renewable energy projects; concurs withthe aspiration that, in 2035, Muckhart should be a welcoming village thatproudly retains its rural identity with new homes that are of high quality,well designed and respect the village’s existing character while the communitywill own key land and assets, with village life centred around its vibrantcivic space; believes that, once Clackmannanshire Council has validated theMuckhart LPP, it will be registered publicly as a material consideration forplanning decisions and will also be used to support funding applications infuture; commends everyone involved with the LPP’s development, and wishes thevillage of Muckhart ,and its entire community, all the very best in all itsfuture endeavours.
