The motion

That the Parliament warmly congratulates the regeneration project LIFT D&G A Creative Approach to Revitalising Lochside in Dumfries after winning a prestigious SURF Award at the annual presentation dinner event staged at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel in December 2025; notes that the special honour was presented to local senior project representatives by Kate Forbes, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Gaelic, to reward best practice in placing artists, arts, innovation and creativity at the heart of community regeneration efforts; recognises that the ceremony was organised on behalf of SURF, Scotland’s regeneration forum, a charity and membership body of more than 300 organisations concerned with the regeneration of socially and economically challenged communities in Scotland; understands that the awards are independently judged by a panel of 20 regeneration experts, and wishes LIFT D&G continued success in the coming months.
