Congratulations to Firefighter Alexander Muir on King’s Fire Service Medal

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Firefighter Alexander Muir, based at Cowcaddens Fire Station, on receiving The King’s Fire Service Medal (KFSM) in The King’s New Year Honours List 2026; notes his 46-year career in the fire and rescue service; understands that this honour reflects his dedication to public safety and his advocacy for firefighter welfare and safety; recognises his commitment to serving the people of Glasgow, and acknowledges the exemplary service he has provided throughout his career.
