Congratulations to Hilary Alba on MBE Award for Community Midwifery

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Hilary Alba on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in The King’s New Year Honours List 2026 for services to community midwifery; notes her role as a specialist midwife with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s Blossom Team; believes that her work provides vital care and support to women and families facing complex circumstances; recognises her professionalism and compassion in delivering high-quality maternity services, and acknowledges the significant contribution that she has made to improving outcomes for mothers and babies across the Greater Glasgow area.
