Congratulations to Mohammed Shaukat on MBE Award for Community Volunteer Work

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Mohammed Shaukat on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in The King’s New Year Honours List 2026 for his volunteer services to the community at Glasgow Central Mosque; notes his contribution to community cohesion and support; understands the important role that faith-based organisations play in promoting inclusion and social wellbeing; recognises his efforts to support individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, and acknowledges the positive impact of his voluntary service on communities in Glasgow.
