The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Lawrence Peter McGarry on being appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in The King’s New Year Honours List 2026 for his voluntary work with The Legion of Mary Wayside Club and services to the community in Glasgow; notes his long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable and marginalised people; understands that his voluntary efforts have provided practical assistance, dignity and companionship to many individuals; recognises the value of community-led support initiatives, and acknowledges his selfless dedication to improving the lives of others in Glasgow.
