The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Eastwood resident, Lynsey O'Dwyer on being awarded the title, Queen's Nurse; acknowledges that Lynsey, who works as a clinical team lead for district nursing in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, is one of 18 community nurses in Scotland to receive the award after successfully completing the Queen's Nursing Institute Scotland's (QNIS) nine-month development programme in 2025; recognises that the development programme involves residential and online workshops and individual coaching sessions; further recognises that, to complete the programme, nurses are required to select a topic for development and it has to be an issue that will have a considerable impact on patients, to ensure that the nine-month learning experience is applied in practice; understands that QNIS is a Scottish charitable organisation, which supports community nurses and midwives in developing their professional skills so that they can provide the highest standards of patient care, and commends Lynsey for her outstanding effort to receive the Queen's Nurse award.
