Ten Years of The Ladybird Tea Room in Alloa

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges the 10th anniversary, in February 2026, of The Ladybird Tea Room in Alloa; understands that the business, which was founded by Alison Turner, has become more than just a place for tea, coffee and cake, the tea room has evolved into a hub of community warmth, connection and belonging; acknowledges that independent cafés and tearooms such as The Ladybird, become part of people’s routines and valuable sources of interaction to deal with loneliness and isolation; considers the value of local, independent small businesses to the community and that supporting community high street businesses, such as The Ladybird, helps business owners build ambitions, sustains livelihoods and contributes to a vibrant local economy and community; congratulates Alison on her success thus far, and wishes her all the best for the next 10 years and beyond.
