Congratulating the Mull of Galloway Trust on Visitor Numbers to the Mull of Galloway Experience in 2025

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Mull of Galloway Trust regarding visitor numbers to the Mull of Galloway Experience in 2025; notes that its remarkable achievement was recognised by the chief executive officer of The Northern Lighthouse Board, having achieved a total of 10,052 visitors who successfully climbed to the Lighthouse Tower, although this figure excludes another 3,600 visits to the exhibition as well as visitors who were unable to climb the 177 steps to the top; recognises that a new counting method reported that more than 49,000 people visited during 2025; understands that the success and appeal of the exhibition has heightened hopes for even more visits when the new season begins at the end of March 2026 and runs until the end of October; welcomes that 12 tour guides are now employed along with four cleaning staff who look after the three lighthouse cottages, which are open for 52 weeks a year and report one of the highest occupancy numbers for Dumfries and Galloway, and wishes the Trust continued success as it shines a beacon of hope and enterprise while becoming a first-class must-visit tourist attraction for many people around the world.
